About Karsten

My name is Nat Karsten Chearis. Funny name, I know. I hated it until I found out the meaning. Nat means gift from God. Karsten means anointed, Christian, blessed. Whenever someone calls my name, they are reminding me that it is a blessing to be an anointed gift from God.

I graduated with honors from ITT Technical Institute with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Information Systems Security. While attending, I became the first president of the Association of Information Technology Professionals of the ITT Technical Institute Cordova chapter. I enjoy all aspects of technology, and have a knack for networking, desktop support, technical writing, Active Directory, and a few more magic tricks.

I’m a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Incorporated; initiated in the Tau Iota Sigma chapter. I also dabble in photography, but I have a lot to learn. I enjoy desktop publishing and designing as well.

All of that is fine and dandy, but I have an undying, relentless, desperate passion for Christ. It’s not enough for Him to be God; He has to be my God. I’m glad that He is. I was called into the Ministry of teaching and preaching when I was 11 (I accepted Christ as my Lord and Savior at the age of eight). I am an associate minister at Carter’s Chapel Full Gospel Baptist Church. I also serve as the Technology Ministry Leader, Youth Advisor, Christian Board of Education Member, Boys II Men Mentor, and a few other ministries as well.

I have a heart for our youth and young adults, and my passion to reach them is ever burning. They are chosen and favored for God’s Glory, but they are constantly tempted with sins of fleshly pleasure. Our God is more than able to keep us from falling (Jude 1:24).

Finally, I LOVE reading. My bookshelf expands exponentially, with no signs of slowing down. Wisdom, Knowledge, and Understanding – the three things my Grandmother prayed I would always have. Her prayers were not in vain.
